Saturday ... another race day dawns with inclement weather

Head of the Harbour, Championship 3 re-runs; it was all about to happen...

The colour was all on the boats...

The passengers had Bar-B-Q Shapes ...say no more...

which puts a smile on any kids face....

The day was more mono, than bright...

Matthew was joining the problem age...

Skies were dark and water flat...

Come on Tim...     Where is the joy?

                                                           with Men in Black...

Was that a start... or a co-ordinated drift?

A rarely seen Spinnaker start in Gladstone Harbour

Plenty of shipping for the contest...

                                                              Dinghies lining up...

A strong impulse fleet and one laser to show them how!

with barely a ripple on the water..
make your own waves...

Just running

trying the angles...

around the marks

Round and round they went...

every now and again there was a wave splash...

and then the tide rushed in, the wind died to 3 knots, ...

.... a ship was leaving port

.. this could get interesting!

a trio of tugs, a very large ship, and a lot of little boats with no wind

Rescue crews got a workout...

so everyone else could relax a while..

That's a smile from David,

and Matthew

and Martin

and Tim!

not the start boat though... it was all flags on deck for an abandonment

of the dinghy race...

Which was a shame for Martin , cause he was beating six Impulse sailors at the time!

Intrigue came home ahead of the pack...

followed by Miss Behaviour

Solitaire drifted stern first over the line

 but within the time limits..

Perfect conditions for a power boat...

That pesky ship left town...

and then it was back to the starting place...

Next weeks blog will be from Rosslyn Bay where  many of us will be competing in the
Round The Bay Race.
