Sprint Series Races - Heats 1 and 2

                                                 Colour, Colour, Colour
          
                        Sunshine, blue water, blue sky, a few new sailors and a couple of interesting new boats, all makes for an action packed  afternoon sailing, and an excited buzz in the air.

                                                                          

 

Welcome to Benjamin Rankine, who is new to Gladstone brings an exciting new toy for him to sail and me to photograph!

 

Matthew was ready with the Bic this week.. a young man of many talents , having sailed a corsair and a pacer as well over the first weeks of the season.. perhaps there should be a trophy for the most classes of dinghy sailed over a season?

 

then again..... David Mann might win for the most classes of boats owned in a season...

                         Blaney Redgrave (we know her as Blaney Ware) is back to sail a new Bic

                    Miss Behaviour is back form a foray to Magnetic Island Race Week..

                                            Dirk is back from visiting the family in Europe ..

                                      and appears to have survived the family holiday...

                   David was on rescue boat duty and probably checking out Scots rig tension

                           Solitaire was pushing the envelope with a port start... both times...

                         Martin , Tierney and Will, had the pacer fleet wrapped up...

 

 

and a new Moth came out to play....

The start of a new season,and the first Championship race of the year brings out the crowds.

       


 Firstly a few photos from last week, when the sky was blue and things looked a little more exciting ...

 Championship, where the day was colourless and the water a boring reflection of gunmetal grey.

 

...however Tim kept us entertained with his learning curve on the Impulse

The start boat crew were directing operations .. but lets hope the colour returns next week..
