A mixed fleet of approximately 35 dinghies and catamarans
traveled from Gladstone, Bundaberg, and Hervey Bay to compete against the locals from Keppel Bay Sailing Club.
Racing started in light conditions
there was synchronized sailing from the Nacra fleetwith an odd one sneaking in amongst it ...
the A class put on a show later in the day
Chris and Fraser flew a kite early...
a splash of tropical colour never goes amiss
and a Weta or two came along
Will took centre stage for a wee bit ..
Garth kept a low profile... this pair had fun ..
the breeze was light ...
the pair on the 4'20 were taking it easy.. no stress!!
The Taser team were from Bundy
The Opti's led the race call
Wayne was grinning at this stage ...
Another start and the wind was picking up
there was a trio of Lasers competing
The cats were impressive ...

There were a few Arrows floating around
The multi hulls gave us a buzz ..
there were boats of all classes coming and going ...
the sun on the sails ...
the lads on the 4'20 were still looking totally unfazed ..
the Opti duo ready and waiting
another race away
Josh led the Impulse across the line
... a trio of PCSC sailors
action at the windward mark
Naomi took out 1,1,1 in the first three races
Martin was looking cruisy
Peter won overall for the weekend
Sheer grit and determination here ...
the cats were back ...
Jim was looking good ...
Watch that sail ...
late afternoon golden light
... and then Sunday dawned and the weather was looking " interesting"
as the sailors prepared for the strong winds predicted
Rigging was checked
... the surf started rolling in
will had a smile
there was time for portraits
a nice big grin ...
some reflected colour
and the movement to the water began..
Wayne took the stand up surf method .. highly effectiveholding the boats was a challenge
lots of splash
everyone helped out ..
Dieter was invaluable as launch assistant...
it looked fun ...
standing to attention; ready for anything !
The dad's got everyone out there..
it was a procession ....
and then the Learn to Sail crew arrived....
Okay .. scramble aboard kids ...
