The yacht fleet has faded away again, as Restless and
Wistari head south to Brisbane , in 20 knots of breeze on the nose...
.. just love those delivery trips... learnt that long ago!
.. Breaking news! Sunday lunch and Restless has just headed back in the creek.
suffering damage to the main..
delivery trip... Yeh!
However the faithful team of Sonofabeach
went out to play by themselves on the harbour ,
so they were gone, and the bigger fleet lined up for a start.
David led the fleet away
then disappeared out front..
this trio swapped back and forth all day..
David and Martin showed everyone where to go... sort of ..
There were Port courses, starboard courses, port, starboard, port, starboard...
windward, leeward... who knew where to go??
.. it was definitely not the 19 knots expected
Mark rounding was competitive
the occasional face full!
there were angles, and angles...
Morgan didn't let the pressure get to her...
On the Red rib, Colleen kept asking .."Where's Will" ?
Race Two .. good to go..
David set the pace again...
there was a huge out going tide
that was departing the harbour at a great rate of knots..
as we know it can...
so judging A7 was challenging...
that's David around ...
Martin took the 'one beat' approach
Steve followed suit..
Oops .. Here's MY Problem...
.. which helped everyone else behind to stay well clear...
second triangle ..
sail still there David !
other fleets were playing on the water !
round and around ...
Maria never let up...
lovely smile from Morgan ...
Martin was remembering , Port,Starboard, Port, Starboard...
David was still looking for 19 knots..
Colleen was still looking for Will.. .. "there he is .. "
Race Three and the light was softening ...
the race was on ...
.... but ... where's Will?
It's okay Colleen .. Herc can see him!
Martin took the lead .. hope David knows which is Port ...
Staying together
You almost wish for a big wave ... !!
A bit of splash action to finish the day..
sometimes the back view tells a story..
around the mark for the last time
Sheldon was this weeks Calendar boy
.. and a lovely afternoon to drift back down the creek
... or NOT ...
it will be a different scene at Easter... not long now!
