It is March and it is still HOT!! Luckily we can go out on Gladstone Harbour under blue skies and light breeze to escape from the heat and humidity!
There were a few yachts we haven't seen for a while .. Brigand
Martin and Barry were prepared and alert ...
|
organised , and ready to go...
the Doc had a new skipper ...
Thylacine appeared, took a graceful bow and departed for the Spa
the crew on Solitaire had a secret weapon
and paid off by crossing the start line well ahead of the rest of the fleet...
just having our own little race here...
but Solitaire was long gone!
we seemed to be missing a few Impulse sailors...
we found David here...
Tim and Matthew here...
there were a few on the high seas and not particularly enjoying it ...
but Wistari , Restless and No Problem have all arrived at QCYC safe and sound if a little bedraggled!
Solitaire kept to the wharves,
while the multi hull boys played in the deep
and away they went...
..
The skipper might have enjoyed a bit more breeze,
but they did have crew in training ...
Which means you get the fun of trapeze...
and Debbie soon got the hang of it
Back at the sparkling Quoin Basin
It was a Port start for the day
Steve was having to go it alone ,
Christopher was doing a good job on the tiller .. I hope his crew knew their place!
A few more Pacers make for a colourful start
Teams racing was the go...
with Dads and Daughters stealing the show ...
Racing was fierce ...
Adrian led the way in his Laser
You can round a mark ...
standing up,..
back to front...
with smooth transition...
or with the kids in charge...
neck and neck with Morgan..
or with quiet grace
While Will chased around the course
there were splashes of colour
intense concentration ...
not so intense concentration from the DADS...
it was getting all fuzzy again...
cheeky grins ..
I think that is a positive salute!
solo sailiers
and quick responses to a wee bit of instruction from the Red Rib!
it is serious work this Saturday sailing
There is nothing more fun ,
than messing about in boats...or word to that effect!
