Straphanger - A perfect day for Patrons Day

     
                         A splash of red, brilliant Queensland sunshine and a blue water harbour
                                      a perfect day for Patron's Day or Barry's Day as we know it!
                                                                   

There was a buzz in the air,  new boats, new members

Fresh new blood ! 

The rigging areas were busy 

Smart kids, Morgan and Lana were fueling up 

There was a pretty new 1'25 on the block 

Very summery 

                                                     The offshore view looked just as good                                                 

                                                           Harrison was Foredecky

                                                                the A Team were back
                                                                             Ken

                                                        On water command were on track 

                                                   Barry, Colleen and supervisor Martin

                                                          Morgan wore a smile

                                         Harrison was pointing the way on SonofaBeach

                                                                            or not!

                    Tony's Angels were under instruction

                                                                       It was Ladies Day

                                             Peter and daughter Bianca were looking hot

                                                           Tuesday made her debut ..

                                                               And the yachts lined up ...

                                                            with a little bit of push and shove

                                         Tuen proved once again that Size has right!

                                                               Seven yachts headed out

                                                                 Thylacine amongst them.

                                                                    Skipper - Mike Philips

                                                         Fleur de Lis had Garth to do the work part!

                                                                 then it was dinghy time

                                                   ... splashes of colour to add interest

                                                          Steve was taking the lead 

                                                                   Ray was out there ...       

                                                                       a neat and tidy start line

                                                   Mitch and Damien gave us a display on the skiff

                                             The Oakley family were in the thick of it. Lana on trapeze

                                          Ben took over from Carli in the race against Ray

                Like ducks to water !    Lana was a natural on trapeze, while Morgan took the sheets

                                                 there were Men in Black to add excitement

                                                          the skiff boys had a few ....

                                                                         'smoko' moments

                                                         and then it was away again!

                                               Herc had a team of rescue operators and paparazzi

                                                        Martin was streamlined

                                                                     keeping it low ...

                                                              There were Problems and I boats

                                                          Sheldon always gets wet!

                                                           Morgan was ducking for cover

                                                      Windspiel was back in action and speeding by ..

                                                .. and the skiff turned on the colour

                                                                       Love It!

Meanwhile the Impulse were in trios 

                                                          It was Ray, Steve, David

                                    You have to Love that colour combo ...it's a cover page!

                                                       Jordi, Morgan and Lana ..

                                                           ... and from across the Harbour came ....

                                                             A great big red kite...

                                                                   

                                                               it made Martin feel boring!

                                               Race Two got underway .. it was much of the same

                                                                                    

                                               Tony spend the afternoon just lazing around

with plenty of time to take photos....

while the 'Angels' did the work! 

                                                       .....not looking too taxing!

                                                            Ben and Sheldon were chasing Ray

                                                       who was pumping that sail like crazy!

                                                           ... not too far behind

                                                            The yachts came home...                   

                                                          it was close at the end ...

                                                      Meanwhile Bianca was bailing ...

                            Maxwell James Homann (Hobbs)  arrived on Thursday 30th August
                                                                             8lb 7oz .

                                                     He looks like a sailor! Don't you agree?

The new committee is already on task ! Joining VC Martin Cooper, are Starter Barry Austin, Handicapper Ken Watson, Sue Doyle Principal of our Discover Sailing Training Centre, Division reps Mitch Brown, Rob Rosendahl and Colleen Sawatzki.
