Another lovely day on the water, a soft breeze, providing enough lift to make the day interesting and send the yachts on their way down the harbour.
There was the usual, shakedown of the rig, and sorting of the crew,
Some have less crew troubles than others...
Scott was testing a new sail...
Martin and Tierney were back ..
Pete and Christopher gave it another try..
Pete agreed to do what he was told!
David had checked in...
Ray was ready....
Scott was going for magic..
Anthony is still in teacher mode..
Miss Behaviour ready to take them on..
Solitaire are keeping their strategies , close to the chest
Benjamin was encountering 'technical difficulties'
The start was a loaves and fishes act...
|
as five yachts closely packed looks like ten!
We need a lookout for the Moth...or perhaps a cow bell..
as .. all of sudden he is behind you!
Sonofabeach was way in front....
The starts were fun.. on the breeze and flying high
for some!
Restless was feeling a little blue...
it was all youth and excitement on Intriigue...
No Fear !
The yachts raced on... ...
Cary and Jim hurtled around in Herc...
Back in the world of real close racing ...
the dinghies were lining up for the start
Ray decided on Scare tactics....
but David had his measure...
Fast and furious .. that's impulse sailing!
Maria was ready for hiking out..
Obviously Ken and I do a lot of studying of technique,
examining the rigs, discussing the sails, offering unheard advice......
we zoom around, here and there,
Who hikes out... who is not ?..
studying the form...
we have learnt a lot..
and we are ready to tell...
Christopher looks as though he has finally got Pete organised...
Big boats finish along the way..
Jackson and mate .. reflected glory..
The yacht fleet returned on the final legs of their harbour course,
sitting out on the hull,
Men on trapeze...
rounding marks,
head on...
part of the Red Rib challenge is to play Chicken every week!
colourful kites...
Going for the dramatic..
..
finishing races , just as a dinghy race starts
It is all about the timing!
proving that ...
might is right...
but at the end of the day
it was all calm and serenity
Lots of colour, lots of races, lots of photos
Enjoy!
