We have to thank Maria for many of the photos this week, especially those ashore, since I wouldn't take my camera to the sand.. this is where the compact comes into it's own!
Anthony was nominated PCSC Australian organiser of Aussie Day and he came up with a sound destination .. which we were pretty sure turned out to be xxxx Island .. seemed we needed a ute, a chair and an esky each....and the locals were making us welcome...
However we digress... let's get there first...
Maria had the trusty Ipad.. hooked up to the Iphone with ISailor, so really we had all the 'I' info we needed.. but did we trust it?
Kym, Carli and Marina stayed out of the I info team and stayed with the "I on Holiday" theme
while the guys opted to share tips and tricks with Dieter....and beers..
in fact I thought the quietest places were either here
or there ...
Geoff pondered one of lifes' great questions ... " Are we nearly there yet?"
While Kym considered the answers.....
Maria actually knew .. cause she had the I..I.. I...
.. and then along came some boats to start a competition...
from the far distance ... some small sails against a stunning horizon...
and then a couple of alien looking hulls
.. and some rank outsiders to argue the toss...
.. is that a yacht ....?
The A / I team wondered ..
Points awarded?
fortunately we found an impartial referee...
a pleasant afternoon motor / sail, depending on your I friend..
with all three yachts arriving together..
Jackson sailed all the way in That Little Boat!
happening to find
the Williams Family in residence already... The party grew...
Martin drifted in from the high seas and an epic windsail..
and Kym was just happy that ALL the I's were dotted!
Captain Tim had come by runabout ..or support boat ...
it seemed a bit strange .. they made Tiernan swim.
it was all very picture post card...
or two.....
visitors came aboard to share stories of adventure...
.. nibblies appeared, refreshments dispensed ..
a perfect evening to watch the sun go down..
.. so we said.. " you guys go ahead .. we girls are flat out ... BUSY!"
The backdrop was perfect, the water millpond, the crowd happy.. the fire alight
We spread ourselves out ...
and since they are so good at it... we let the boys organise the important stuff.. like food..
The sunset was blue ...
.. and then gold ...
and really it wasn't until midnight that it all got messy......
But what is a bit of rain, 30 knots of wind and a metre sea on the harbour to a few intrepid PCSC sailors................... No Problem!
A grey morning .. time to shoot through..
More sideways ..washing machine than cruising ...
But all came home safe, tired and happy.
