A day on the RED RIB
..............After a longgggggg association with boats... you would think i would learn wouldn't you?
Who goes down to the sailing club on a Saturday wearing a skirt!!!!!!!!
My excuse is I thought I was just going to take a few photos from Patsy Lee and head home again to another afternoon of painting.......
but as so often happens to the best painting plans............
I got a better offer..........
It was a perfect day to try out the new club rescue boat ... just how suitable was it going to be for the photographers role ?
Well........ let's just say that a lot of photos may end up like this...........
though i did manage to sort out a few shots
and i noticed a curious thing was happening out there..........
everyone seemed to be looking for something..............
Immigrant was looking .............
Arcadia were fluffing around too....................
Dave thought " maybe it' is up there or was he asking for help?
The crew on Arcadia were looking for it...........
Evan Donnie was looking for it..............
thank goodness
Cary must have found it............................
Was that it?
Do a yelling screaming all out run for an orange buoy ...
follow thru with a right turn and look for.....
any one of these ...........
.... but don't take the scenic route..............
take a right towards Gatcombe ......
another left at a little bobbing ball, go straight for a while, hang a sharp left into the marina at Rosslyn Bay, sit in the mud...... just out of rum's reach... until the tide comes in and you're home!
Now we knew where we were going ...... the gun was fired ........
Immigrant was off and racing ................
Arcadia was on her way !!
the crews settled into an afternoon perched on the gunnels
except on Kindred Spirit where life was looking quite confortable
as well as colourful, as they flew the flag for the CCYC!
Immigrant and Arcadia tacked back and forth..
with time for a cheery wave
Arcadia was in the groove........
Dirk and Maria tried to get comfy
Jon drove the Red RIB with precision......
always a smile....well ....for a while.....
crews were tight ............
the flight deck was operating ...........
the competition was intense...........
Northern Moments followed in style
and once you were all gone
Barry started to smile .................
John waited for wind to get out of the creek................
Jackson took it seriously..............
Martin and Jack kept an eye on the opposition...........
John followed thru............
a coloured sail appeared ,....
the trouble started.............
and by then it was time to go home to .........
the PCSC
