PCSC Handicap 1 Heat 2 9th October

The wind was blowing , the doubtful stayed on shore , but the brave and the fearless headed out to battle the elements and each other-
 Hannah and Victoria attempting to sail the 29er  provided enough entertainment for those of us on Herc to keep me laughing for days! Not to mention the hundreds of photo opportunities they provided!

A  memorable moment was the start- with a thundering roar - yachts raced past with the wind in the sails, the call of the foredeck and the grind of winches- now that's racing!










so we headed for the start .........coming from several directions just to keep everyone alert...



............how many bits of boats  can you count?..


so away they went ...........

disappearing into the murky waters  of gladstone harbour.......

crew were busy.................

especially on HERC...............

                                    the dinghies started ..................        

                                                                                                                                                       

                                                                    
        and all seemed well.............................

Cooper father and son had it together................

matthew sailed his own race...........

                                   

Tom was cool and calm, while John .......

was on fire .........and leading the pack

                                       which left us with .............THE  GIRLS!

                                                        it all started well............

                                          it was so much fun............

                                           and it was good while it lasted.........and even then it was fun............

                                                                                      

                               then they got wet.................. and that is Hannahs head under that sail.....

                                                                                   

                            so they tried it this way.......................

                                                                                 
                                              
                                                            and then in an orderly fashion....... and then ....................
                                                      

                                                                           they did the math..........

                                                 and they realised ........we know gymnastics............
                                                                                   

                                                                                 

         ................... they got it together long enough to have some fun .......

                              for a while anyway.............................  they took in the view....... 

after all that hard stuff they headed for home ................

                                                                                                                                     

Handicap Series Heat One

Finally the wind arrived blowing the doldrums away, and bringing an air of anticipation for an exhilarating afternoon on the water.
From my perch on the front deck of Toot, the start was well mannered with only a little barging and some yelling ..but not much! !



so off they went ...



no wait......... here comes No problem ........

..........and so finally all set off ,  

followed by three hardy dinghy sailors...........



                                 ......       who dealt with a few challenges along the way..........

                                                                    

I'm sure their mothers will know them!!!

.......  still they had some fun ....

meanwhile we on TOOT .....or 2002

Super Freaky we couldn't miss............

but while you were all busy...........

and Gedrick went from relaxing on a sunny beach........

                     oh that rescue boat................

                                          theres a tow line in there somewhere......!
