The Port Curtis Sailing Club fielded a strong fleet
at the Qld Impulse State Titles last weekend; held at Lake Cootharaba
on the Sunshine coast.
while I won't waste time raving about the blue waters of the lake
I did find a few tricks in Photoshop to at least kill some of the muddy brown.
While the rest were off in the Impulse race, Morgan was competing among a mixed mono fleet for the Mono Masters
and her competition looked a bit like this ...
and this...
though this was a bit later in the day ..
The wind blew on Saturday; but on Sunday the first race was slow and dull; 8 knots from the North dropped to 2 knots from the North West and it was all looking like a long hot afternoon.
You can always tell who the paddle boarders are ..
As i said , luckily for us all, the wind arrived
and made the day a whole lot more interesting ...
and while all of this was going on...
a few other boats were having an interesting afternoon
the rescue crews spent a busy afternoon
but the dedicated rescue crew of Lake Cootharaba Sailing Club
took a leap into action ..
and even if you are 6 ft .. and can stand up...
it is not easy unearthing a sail, mast and boom buried in mud!
chocolate tops were all the vogue
and so the day went on...
PCSC featured well in the results with David Mann taking home the Trophy as Qld title holder
Maria winning the Ladies prize and Tim Williams took out the most improved for the year !
