Race day dawns for Part Two of Season 2016.

                                                                      Storm season sailing !

We may have dodged a super cell, but the skies were still grey, the humidity intense,
thoughts of getting onto the water a welcome relief from the heat.

                                             Naturally , not all goes smoothly, all the time;

Matthew had broken his rudder last weekend at Yeppoon,
but he carried on regardless with a temporary replacement ,
though he had to run to catch the fleet...

Solitaire had imported some rock star crew .. it was going to be a Cracka of a day!

Tony was clearly worried when he viewed the preparations on Solitaire !!

Anthony Constance

And we have to admit, they were looking superstar cool , out there ...

Intrigue hit back with some action angles ...

The crew on the deck were a huge attraction ...

but age and experience kept a cool head ....

there was less running and more talking ....

until Intrigue ran away from them all...

This trio may have a Wocket, but they sure need to buddy check the skipper before they leave shore...

still... just jealous.. I bet Danon was comfortable !!

...along came Restless; nice hot pink contrast there John...

rounding the first mark and away they went down to ...

for somewhere different ...QAL!

Miss Behaviour was in cruising mode ,
and with 25knots of wind further down the harbour, cruising home was more fun!

The dinghy class was a whole other thing ....

it was an uphill toil all afternoon;

Yes, the cheerful colour Yellow on the Gas ship gave us encouragement!

The JM rocked and rolled, while the fleet lined up,

the bright colours of the dinghy fleet adding a little festival air to the Quoin Basin

Matthew was keeping up with David at the start line

Morgan is featuring the neutrals this season...

Impulse dinghies

growing as Steve joins the band..

Lucky we have a Psycho or two to make it interesting !

Jackson Cooper

David had some speed , after rounding the windward mark,

He was coming and then he was gone ...

Martin was going for the wet ride

Keep low , keep them guessing ?

Steve was trying to avoid the paparazzi.... Ha ha as if...?

Maria , and Tim

  No Problem!

Morgan was having a 'Moment'

Jackson was all smooth sailing ..

a grin from ear to ear...

with a wee bit of uncontrolled gybing ... Just saying!

David decided to see how things were for the dedicated crew on the Red Rib!

Come aboard .....

Yes... he was satisfied !

Just when it started to get rather busy....

Martin had a swim...

Jackson was in danger of losing the designer sunglasses

Morgan opted for a short break...

Morgan Lewis

15- 20 knots of breeze, a short chop, a tiring capsize...

not without support and encouragement..

.. and then Tim broke his mast....

What was going on?

Time to pack the camera away , bring out the rescue hat and finally ...

Lets all go back to the bar...

because ... now we too have Dimmies!

Championship next Saturday... Dinghy sailors; Please leave the club early, as Ken is getting pretty tired of you all being late!!!
